Scenarios and Solutions

With technology and social media sites becoming more popular with teens, we as parents and the community must put ourselves in the shoes of our children. Cyberbullying has become more popular in the news recently, and more teens are taking their lives due to being threatened and made fun of via Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. As Long (2008) states, cyberbullying is being allowed to hide behind the online tools, and attack victims around the clock, and the cyberbullies not only have access to their victims, but they also have an audience while doing it on social media sites as stated above. The purpose behind this activity is to read and review experiences that our children go through. Please watch the following video on cyberbullying brought to you by CBS on ways to prevent the harmful acts from happening to your child, in your school district, and the community. After you finish watching the video, complete the three scenarios provided on cyberbullying and what your solutions to the problems would be. Please keep all lines of communication open and appropriate.
